About UsArtsmark Journey
Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England. It recognises their commitment to high quality arts and cultural education. Facio Workshops is proud to be supporting schools and education settings on their Artsmark journey, as well as inspiring children and young people to create, experience, and participate in great arts and culture. Artsmark has created seven quality principles which Facio Workshops has linked to the National curriculum and the work they do.
Striving for excellence and innovation
Facio Workshops has a framework of activity that provides participants with transferable skills that can be applied in personal settings and within the classroom. At the end of the workshop, participants should have the confidence to further develop in subjects & areas where they have previously been reluctant to explore.
Developing belonging and ownership
By discovering and connecting with peers within the school the students can fulfill the National curriculum agenda of speaking and listening, making formal presentations, demonstrating to others and participating in debate.
A fairytale in a modern digital age: By re-creating standard fairytales, students start to evaluate how they behave and/or react in specific situations. In addition to creating their own modern day fairytale, they assess their lives and any scenarios that could cause them dilemmas. Renacting scenarios how they would like them to be, creating positive habits in daily lives.
Enabling Personal progression
Creating their own modern day fairytale with peers in today’s digital age and passing learnt knowledge onto fellows students in any style that would be beneficial.
Being exciting, inspiring and engaging
Facio Workshops focuses on fun, engaging ,drama-specific games and tools to promote teamwork, imagination and healthy competition.
Actively involving children and young people
As part of the continuous improvement, we encourage the formation of student led councils to have young people that can use their knowledge and address issues/concerns – in particular around young people and social media.
Ensuring a positive and inclusive experience
Everyone that participates in Facio Workshops will be required to contribute in some way, even if they are not a performer. They will be introduced to the benefits of quieting the mind through meditation, as a way to focus their energy and thoughts onto new skills and behaviours.
